CentOS 8 installation issues

Post by JonesDK » Sat Dec 28, 2019 4:29 pm

Hi guys,

I have tried to install OnlyOffice CE on a blank Centos 8 box following the instruction https://helpcenter.onlyoffice.com/serve ... entos.aspx.

It all goes well except:

BUG work-around: How To Install FFmpeg on CentOS 8 / RHEL 8

Code: Select all

source: https://computingforgeeks.com/how-to-install-ffmpeg-on-centos-rhel-8/

sudo dnf -y install https://download.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-8.noarch.rpm
sudo dnf localinstall --nogpgcheck https://download1.rpmfusion.org/free/el/rpmfusion-free-release-8.noarch.rpm
sudo dnf install --nogpgcheck https://download1.rpmfusion.org/nonfree/el/rpmfusion-nonfree-release-8.noarch.rpm

sudo dnf install http://rpmfind.net/linux/epel/7/x86_64/Packages/s/SDL2-2.0.10-1.el7.x86_64.rpm
sudo dnf install ffmpeg

sudo dnf -y install ffmpeg-devel
Installation confirmed with:

Code: Select all

rpm -qi ffmpeg
ffmpeg -version

Installing Community Server
sudo yum install https://download.onlyoffice.com/repo/ce ... noarch.rpm
sudo yum install onlyoffice-communityserver

Output:
Error:
Problem: conflicting requests
- nothing provides python36-setuptools needed by onlyoffice-communityserver-10.5.1-317.noarch

I think that the problem is that this package has been replaced by platform-python-setuptools (https://centos.pkgs.org/8/centos-baseos ... h.rpm.html) - however, I'm new to Linux, so I might be wrong :-)

Can someone help confirming if the current package is incompatible with the latest version 8, and if so, how to report this to the Dev team?

Thanks :-)
