Scientific referencing?

Post by LymeCenter » Wed Mar 11, 2020 12:23 pm

Dear Members,

Kindly I would like to ask if anyone knows a plug-in of sorts that would allow us to make automatic scientific references and bibliography? We use the APA style. Maybe that upcoming versions of OnlyOfice Desktop Editor will have this feature but I do not know if it is planned; any idea's here?

Dear user,

You can create your own plugins and add them to the ONLYOFFICE Desktop Editors. All the information you will find on the ONLYOFFICE API page.

In case you have any questions regarding plugin installation you can ask our developers at dev.onlyoffice.org. They will be glad to help you!

Best regards

Dear members and Kate,

The Zotero plug-in installation in Linux Mint required more steps than the installation of the plug-in in LibreOffice writer.

These were the steps I took after installing OnlyOffice and Zotero:
1. Downloaded the Zotero plug-in for OnlyOffice from GitHub:
https://www.onlyoffice.com/blog/2020/05 ... vs-zotero/
https://github.com/ONLYOFFICE/plugin-zotero/;
2. Extracted the .zip file under downloads;
4. To be able to move the src folder in /onlyoffice/desktopeditors/editors/sdkjs-plugins the permissions for the sdkjs-plugins need to be changed. This could be done using chmod command: https://www.computerhope.com/unix/uchmod.htm;
4. Then src folder (plugin-zotero-master/src) can be copied to /onlyoffice/desktopeditors/editors/sdkjs-plugins;
5. change the name of 'src' to 'BFC5D5C6-89DE-4168-9565-ABD8D1E48711' as described in the example;
6. Start a web browser and login into the Zotero page https://www.zotero.org/user/login/ (keep the login page open);
7. Start OnlyOffice, start a new document and go to Plugins;
8. Click on the Zotero and click on 'Zotero API settings' (the Zotero account API settings page should open);
9. Then click on 'Create new private key';
10. Provide a key description, select your preference for permissions and access;
11. Click on 'Safe Key';
12. A key appears which you can copy and paste in the API line in OnlyOffice and click on the 'Save' button.

All should work now.....
In my case I was able to select language, style and insert a bibliography. However, I was not able to make citations. Thus the plug-in with this installation process seems not useable. I have tried to troubleshoot, with little luck. If anyone has any ideas how to solve this issue please, do not hesitate to share.
